Introducing Pickled - our newest producer!

Ellie and Rachael are the dynamic duo behind Picked. These sisters bring their passion for pickling and unique blend of food creativity to make mouth-watering creations using only the freshest ingredients. Find out more about how they got started and some of their suggestions to elevate your meals. 

TGFC/ How did you get started?
Rachael/ We actually don't have a cool story here. My sister and I had been thinking about starting a food company for years. We had so many ideas, but nothing that stuck. When we saw that Pepper & Me had put Pickled up for sale, we jumped at it. They had started it but only worked at it for a few months, so we bought it off them and got it back off the ground.

TGFC/ What makes Pickled special?
Rachael/ The thing that makes us stand out from other pickles is the amount of flavour our products are punching. We use a lot of delicious herbs and spices to make Pickled really unique tasting.

TGFC/ Do you have a favourite product?
Rachael/ My favourite is the Chopped Onion, I love the Asian flavours. Ellie's favourite is the Sizzled Onions which pack more Mexican style flavours.

TGFC/ What is the product people seem to love?
Rachael/ The Cheesed Pickles are hands down our best sellers. They are beautifully thinly sliced cucumber pickles that soak up all the flavour and go amazingly well on cheese and crackers, toasties and burgers to name a few.

TGFC/ How do people use the different Pickled products?
Rachael/ Some ideas include a tzatziki cucumber salad with our Oiled Garlic and topped with Sizzled Onion is so good! You can up your nachos games with our zesty Sizzled Onion. You can make a pickled tuna melt with our Sizzled Onions and Cheesed Pickles. Our pickles taste great on pizzas along with cream cheese, mortadella, mozzarella and truffle oil. 

TGFC/ Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Rachael/ We are both avid foodies and have always been crazy pickle lovers so as soon as we saw Pickled we knew it was for us! As we enter this chapter, we're committed to continuing the tradition of using only the freshest ingredients and time-honored recipes that have made Pickled products a favorite among pickle lovers across New Zealand.
