Dancing Petrel Cabernet Franc 2020 is full with vanilla and spice, fragrant and mouth filling. This full bodied, richly coloured wine warms the soul. Blackcurrants and boysenberry mingle with hints of herbs and spices to tantalise the taste buds. Matured and smoothly integrated in French oak with a lingering finish. Gently flirtatious. This is highly sought after. Michael Cooper says "Grown in the Far North, this full-coloured red was matured in French oak casks (30% new). Fresh and mouth filling, it is vibrantly fruity, with youthful, berryish, plummy, spicy flavours, oak-aging complexity and good tannin support. Well worth cellaring."

Dancing Petrel Vineyard and Winery on Paewhenua Island, sits in the heart of Mangonui Harbour, Northland. We fell in love with Paewhenua Island after spending a lot of time in the area and in 2012 bought the original cottage. In 2018 we made it home and at the same time bought the vineyard that surrounded us. We both LOVE wine and are really excited to share a taste of Northland with those who visit. The micro climate of Paewhenua Island combined with the north facing slopes provides fantastic growing conditions, producing wines we are really proud of. Our wines have been getting very good reviews. Michael Cooper has given our Tannat a 5 star rating and the Cabernet Franc and Viognier 2019 4.5 stars. The Rose, Pinot Gris and Viognier 2018 are all 4 stars and excellent drinking.
